15 Dec Arbella “Carolers” Delight the City of Beverly
In December Arbella joined forces with the Chamber of Commerce and Beverly Main Streets to help with a wonderful new event they were spearheading for the businesses on Cabot St. The “Downtown Beverly Shop Around” was a late-night opening event for businesses who have been so badly affected by the City’s improvements programs. The goal was to create an exciting event that would draw people downtown to locally-owned businesses and support them during the holiday season.
Arbella provided the music led by Don MacTaggart, caroling at businesses starting at the Cabot and ending at City Hall, where we were met with City employees who were still working at 7pm! (poor things!) We brought them a little holiday cheer and caroled inside for them.
We look forward to more events like this next year!
Here’s a thank you note from the City:
I wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had last evening all due to the Arbella Carollers. As they worked their way down Cabot Street stopping at different locations to perform they eventually arrived at City Hall (see photo). After performing outside they offered to go inside and play a few songs. Such an incredible treat! Everyone was thrilled to see (and hear) them. They were absolutely fabulous. So thank you for asking them to participate in the Beverly Holiday Downtown ShopAround and again many thanks to Lauren and the members of Arbella for making it feel like a special evening in downtown. We are so appreciative.Denise📷Denise A. DeschampsEconomic Development Planner (and Permitting Liaison)City of Beverly
