2013 Open House – Sunday June 2nd 2013

2013 Open House – Sunday June 2nd 2013

The summer is upon us which means it’s time to get our act together!

We may have appeared dormant over the winter but that is far from the case!  Joel was extremely active in the Winter Guard scene.  For those that don’t know, Joel has been a color guard instructor for over 20 years.  He has spent many of those years teaching the color guard, both marching band and winter guards, at Salem High School, as well as  Salem Blue Winter Guard in NH.  This year he had TWO guards at Salem HS!  He also writes, instructs and performs with the Defenders, AND this year took on the St. Brendans Winter guard where they were WGI Open Class Finalists in Dayton.  Oh, and he became a WGI Judge.  AND, he has been working Arbella amongst his network of people, looking to recruit and solicit donations of equipment.  He has been a very boy indeed!

Lauren has been holding the “back office” fort.  Over the winter we received many e-mails requesting Arbella to perform at various events during the summer, so there has been alot of applications and correspondence.  She has also been liaising with local halls, looking for places to hold our fundraisers and rehearsals, updating marketing materials, keeping the website updated, etc.!  Something is always going on, even when there’s nothing going on. 🙂

So, it is with great excitement that we announce our 2013 Open House.  We will be hosting it at Lauren’s downtown Danvers photography studio, located at 44 Maple Street, Suite 1, Danvers – upstairs from Goodies, the 1950’s ice cream parlor.  It will be from 2-4 and we will go over the season, the performances booked so far, rehearsal schedule, and all other information as well as answer any questions you may have.

There is a Facebook event created, so please RSVP so we can get an idea of how many peeps are coming (we do plan on having some light refreshments!).  Here’s the link to the FB event.

We are very excited to be fielding a larger unit this year!    We have gotten such amazing support from the community as well as Salem Mayor Kimberly Driscoll, and of course, our new uniforms, which are reminiscent of our old uniforms, really took people back to the time Arbella was the pride of Salem – we know we will be again very soon!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Lauren
