Arbella is looking for experienced and committed corps, band or musicians and color guard to participate as soon as possible!  We will be running a “mini corps”, for exhibition/standstill and parades only,  We will be holding bi-monthly rehearsals during the winter building up to a performance schedule commencing Memorial Day year year.  The focus is on quality, not quantity, in an effort to deliver the best quality performance possible.

“I’m too old to march!”
“I don’t have the time!”

"You can teach old dogs..." Meet John. He marched in the Shoreliners of Lynn and the Coachmen of Saugus. He hadn't picked up a baritone in 30 years, never mind played one - but he was immediately able to play and with the help of Brass Instructor Allen Bourgeois, he gets better and better every week. We are holding weekly practices during the summer so that alumni can "get it back", and this includes learning how to read music. Many alumni out there never could!

We’ve heard these alot!  But have no fear – we are not going to expect everyone to be able to run from endzone-to-endzone whilst playing the Firebird Suite, not missing a single note, nor do we expect to have several rehearsals a week.  We want to create a quality, sensible, and inclusive program where people of all ages can derive enjoyment from performing in the style of drum corps.  We will not be doing complex marching maneuveurs or drills or playing frantic music – the emphasis is on quality quality quality at all times.  So, while we won’t be practicing together every day, we do expect members to commit to practice at home so that they come to rehearsals prepared and have parts memorized.  Speaking of commitment, it is extremely important that those members who sign up are committed to play at our performances.  While we are going to be sure our practice schedule does not conflict with other corps, there will no doubt be times when performances will overlap.  Because we are going to be starting as a smaller group, we do expect everyone to be there on performance day.  Aside from just loving to play and perform, that is the biggest expectation we have of our Members.

If you would like the opportunity to continue the drum corps legacy here on the North Shore, fill in this contact form.  Be sure to tell us your instrument and how long you’ve been playing.
